Christmas Special  Spice Cookies


Ingredients:

  • 250g of all-purpose flour
  • 100g of unsalted butter
  • 150g of brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 100g of chocolate chips
  • 100g of chopped nuts (optional)

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • mixing bowl
  • baking sheet
  • oven
  • spatula

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and brown sugar together until creamy.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix well until combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just blended.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts, if using.
  • Drop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each cookie.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
