Christmas Special Spice Cookies
Ingredients:
- 250g of all-purpose flour
- 100g of unsalted butter
- 150g of brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 100g of chocolate chips
- 100g of chopped nuts (optional)
Kitchen Tools Needed:
- mixing bowl
- baking sheet
- oven
- spatula
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and brown sugar together until creamy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix well until combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just blended.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts, if using.
- Drop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
